It really doesn’t matter which distro you use, as tolls can be downloaded and installed on any of them.
However, the fact that you’re asking this question at all, and the fact that you’re asking it here, doesn’t bode well for your ‘career’ in hacking. I’d recommend Ubuntu – it’s the easiest distro for newbies. It should have everything you need, like GNU compilers and vi or emacs to edit code. You could also try Fedora Core.
